Meyer Suozzi prevails against the NYS Gaming Commission

Apr 22, 2025Equine & Racing Law

On April 10, 2025, the Appellate Division Third Department in a unanimous 5-0 decision reversed the Schenectady Supreme Court’s denial the fee application of our client, Standardbred Owners Association (“SOA”), for its attorney fees in its Freedom of Information Law litigation in which it prevailed against the NYS Gaming Commission. The case has now been sent back to the lower court to reassess the fees owed by the NYSGC, which now also includes the fees SOA incurred on this appeal. MSEK attorneys Andrew J. Turro and Daniel Rinaldi represented SOA before both the Supreme Court and in the Appellate Division.
