Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., in partnership with The New York Bar Foundation, is proud to recognize Marianna Wells as the 2025 Judge Bernard S. Meyer Scholarship recipient.
Marianna, a Brooklyn resident and second-year student at CUNY School of Law, was honored for her essay, “Trans Rights, Federal Courts and the Preservation of Liberty For All.” Her work reflects the type of thoughtful advocacy and commitment to justice that Judge Meyer himself championed throughout his distinguished career.
The $5,000 scholarship, established in 2004, is awarded annually to a New York law student who demonstrates excellence in legal writing and advocacy. It commemorates the legacy of Judge Bernard S. Meyer, who served as an Associate Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals and later returned to Meyer Suozzi, where he continued to influence the legal community until his passing in 2005.
Marianna shared, “I am deeply honored to receive this scholarship. At a time when constitutional protections are under challenge, it is especially meaningful to have my work recognized by Meyer Suozzi and The New York Bar Foundation.”
Meyer Suozzi extends its congratulations to Ms. Wells and looks forward to her continued contributions to the legal profession.
