On April 27th-29th, A. Thomas Levin, Chair of the Firm’s Municipal Law, Land Use & Environmental Compliance and Professional Responsibility Practice Groups, participated as a judge in the 25th Anniversary We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution Civic Competition. The competition, which takes the form of a simulated congressional hearing, is held at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and in hearing rooms of the U.S. House of Representatives. During the hearings, groups of students testify as constitutional experts before panels of judges acting as congressional committees scoring the groups through a performance-based assessment.
UPDATE: After three days of simulated congressional hearings on the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, Lincoln High School of Portland, Oregon, won first place in the 25th Anniversary We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution National Finals.
