The Professional Responsibility Practice Group advises and represents attorneys, law firms, corporate counsel, and members of the judiciary on issues concerning disciplinary proceedings, ethics counseling, law firm dissolutions, partnership disputes, and more. Ever conscience of the sensitivity of disciplinary matters, as well as the effect such misconduct claims can have on a professional’s career, we seek to resolve these matters as quickly and as confidentially as possible. In order to avoid or minimize legal exposure our attorneys also work with clients to identify potential areas of conflict and clarify ethical issues. We have substantial experience in trial proceedings, as well as law firm structuring, and helping lawyers and judges defuse troublesome situations, while guiding and counseling them to anticipate and avoid problems.

With a well-known and respected group of trial attorneys, judges and advisors, the attorneys in this group include a former Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, two former Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, a former Nassau County Assistant District Attorney, a Past President of the New York State Bar Association, Past President of the Nassau County Bar Association, and Editor of the "Bench Book for Trial Judges.” These attorneys also serve as past and present chairs and committee members of the following:
