The current team of appellate attorneys continues the well-established and highly regarded appellate tradition of the firm that dates back to Hon. Bernard S. Meyer, a distinguished jurist who was a member of the Court of Appeals and a founding member of the firm, and Hon. Joseph A. Suozzi, who joined the firm following his tenure at the Appellate Division, Second Department.  Below is a profile of the current members of Meyer Suozzi’s Appellate Group:

Kevin Schlosser

Kevin is the Chairperson of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.  Kevin has 30 years of experience in appellate practice. He has argued appeals in the New York Court of Appeals, all four New York State Appellate Divisions, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Kevin has done appeals in virtually every area of civil substantive law and practice and procedure.

Andrew J. Turro

Andy is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, and a former member of the New York District Attorney’s Office.  He has handled over 50 appeals, both civil and criminal, over the past 30 years.  He has argued appeals in the New York Court of Appeals, three of the four New York State Appellate Divisions, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Richard F.X. Guay

Richard is a former Assistant United States Attorney who now specializes in criminal defense work, primarily in the area of white collar crime.  He has 30 years of appellate experience in the criminal and civil areas.  Richard has appeared in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (both as a federal prosecutor and as defense counsel), the New York Court of Appeals and the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.

Robert N. Zausmer

Bob is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.  Bob’s appellate experience dates back over 40 years to when he began his career in the Appeals Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.  Over the course of his career, Bob has briefed and argued in the vicinity of 100 appeals and has appeared before the New York Court of Appeals, the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Bob’s appellate experience encompasses both criminal cases and virtually every facet and area of civil litigation.

A. Thomas Levin

Tom is chair of the firm’s Municipal Law Department.  Tom has been doing appeals since 1969 when he was a Senior Deputy County Attorney in its Appeals Department.  Tom has briefed and/or argued hundreds of appeals, and has appeared in the New York Court of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and three of the four Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.

Abraham B. Krieger

Abe is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Department.  He has more than 30 years of appellate practice experience and has done appeals involving title-related litigation, real estate contracts, real estate finance, lease related matters, title claims, utility liens and mortgage-related cases involving authority, validity, enforceability, default and termination issues.

Patricia McConnell

Pat is a member of the firm’s Labor and ERISA Departments. Pat has 35 years of appellate experience, mainly involving labor law-related cases.  She has appeared before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third and Fourth Circuits, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Divisions.

Richard S. Corenthal

Richard is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Departments.  Richard has done approximately 25 appeals, principally in the area of labor law.  He has appeared before the New York Court of Appeals, all four Departments of the New York State Appellate Division and the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Hanan B. Kolko

Hanan is a member of the firm’s Labor Department and Chair of the firm’s Medical Marijuana Practice. Hanan has 20 years of appellate experience during which he has handled appeals in the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.  He has done eight appeals involving labor law issues before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Lynn M. Brown

Lynn is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Special Education Departments. She has been preparing briefs and arguing appeals for over 30 years.  In addition to being a skilled researcher and drafter of briefs, Lynn has argued appeals in the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.

Michael J. Antongiovanni

Michael is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.  He has over 10 years of appellate experience, principally in the area of drafting briefs.  Michael has also argued appeals in the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.

Michael A. Serpico

Michael is a member of the firm’s Personal Injury and Negligence Department.  He has been doing appellate work for nearly a decade, and has prepared and argued appeals in the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.
