Nathaniel L. Corwin

Law Practice
Nathaniel L. Corwin was named a Member of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. in 2004. Previously, he held the position Of Counsel from 1999 in the firm’s Trusts and Estates department. From 1989 to 1991, he was an associate in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Law practice. While Mr. Corwin’s practice now centers on the area of trusts and estates, he also performs legal work in the areas of corporate law, real estate, municipal law and contractual matters. His work includes the drafting of sophisticated wills and trusts, formation and organization of limited liability companies and limited partnerships for a broad spectrum of business ventures, the administration of estates, and handling of residential and commercial real estate and leasing transactions for the firm's trusts and estates clients.
 
Professional Profile
Mr. Corwin began his legal career in 1986 as an associate with the firm of Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine, Underberg, Manley, Myerson & Casey, and then with its successor firm, Myerson & Kuhn through 1989. During his tenure at both firms, Mr. Corwin worked in the corporate practice areas, handling transactional and securities matters. From 1992 until 1999, he was a partner in the firm of Corwin & Matthews, where his practice focused primarily in real estate and trusts and estates matters.
 
Community Involvement
Mr. Corwin serves as General Counsel to the Greenlawn Water District, a municipality within the Town of Huntington. One of the few independent water districts in Suffolk County, New York, it relies on Mr. Corwin for counsel across a wide range of legal issues. These include advisement on compliance with state, federal and local laws and matters that arise within the course of board meetings, as well as purchasing and construction contracts.
 
Mr. Corwin was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Presbytery of Long Island from 1996 until 2001; a committeeman of the Huntington Republican Club from 1992 until 1999; and a member and director of the Huntington Rotary Club from 1992 until 1999. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Old First Presbyterian Church in Huntington, New York, where he previously served as president in 1994 and as a trustee from 1992 until 1996.
 
Professional Affiliations
Mr. Corwin is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and its Surrogate’s Court Committee, and a long-time member of the Huntington Lawyer’s Club. Mr. Corwin is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level of professional excellence.
