Mr. Skop has structured, drafted, negotiated and closed a broad range of sophisticated and complex acquisition, sale and merger transactions. He has drafted and negotiated stock purchase, shareholder, partnership, LLC, joint venture, buy-out, employment, licensing, distribution, loan, credit line, security, lease, private placement, work-out and intellectual property related agreements as well as commercial real estate lease, sale and finance transactions. Mr. Skop serves as outside corporate counsel to many of his clients providing ongoing legal advice on day to day matters. Mr. Skop’s clients include information technology companies, manufacturers, distributors, lenders, financial services providers and professional practices.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Skop maintained a solo practice in Nassau County. Before starting his own practice in 2002, Mr. Skop practiced with the Manhattan law firm Gilbert Segall and Young, LLP and was a Partner at Rosen & Reade, LLP, also in Manhattan.
Education
Mr. Skop received his law degree from New York University School of Law in 1982. He graduated cum laude from Columbia University with his Bachelor’s in Political Science in 1979.
Professional Affiliations
Mr. Skop is a member of the American, New York State, and Nassau County Bar Associations. From 1995 until 1999, he was a member of the Committee on Corporations of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and from 1997 until 1999 served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Corporate Governance.
Community Involvement
Mr. Skop has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Merrick Jewish Centre since 1995 and he currently serves as Chairman of the Legal Committee and Ritual Committee Chairman. He was the Merrick Jewish Centre journal honoree in 2006. Mr. Skop has served on the Folio Committee, as a Folio Awards judge, and as a Connections Day Moderator for the Fair Media Council, a not-for-profit organization that advocates for quality local news coverage. He is also a member of the Long Island Executive Board for the Jewish National Fund.
