Since joining the firm in September 2004, Melanie D. Hendry has been an Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. located in Garden City, Long Island, N.Y. Ms Hendry had served as a law clerk to the firm since May 2003. Ms. Hendry’s practice includes all facets of state and federal civil litigation, as well as arbitration, involving complex commercial disputes, contracts, employment, partnership and corporate disputes, bankruptcy, restrictive covenants, personal injury, trade secrets and intellectual property.

Prior to joining Meyer, Suozzi, Ms. Hendry was a Legal Intern at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Hendry was also a Legal Intern to the Honorable Ruth C. Balkin (Nassau County Family Court).

Education
Ms. Hendry received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Adelphi University in 1998. In 2004, Ms. Hendry graduated summa cum laude from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center where she was on the Dean’s list every semester. She was the salutatorian of her class and received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Leadership and Overall Academic Excellence as well as awards for Exemplary Contributions to the Quality of Student Life and Exceptional Contributions to the Growth of the Law Center. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the Touro Law Review and attended law school on a full academic scholarship.

Professional Affiliations
Ms. Hendry is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association. In January 2008, Ms. Hendry was appointed Recording Secretary of the Executive Board of the Touro Law Center Alumni Association. More recently, in June 2008, she was appointed to the New York State Bar Association Committee on Diversity. Ms. Hendry has also served as a member of the Women's Fund of Long Island Achievers Against the Odds Breakfast Committee.
