Berman joined Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. located in Garden City, Long Island, N.Y. as an Associate in the Bankruptcy and Business Reorganization practice in the firm’s Garden City office. Ms. Berman’s practice concentrates on creditor’s rights, bankruptcy reorganizations, work-outs, and business restructuring.
Professional Profile Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Berman was an Associate in the New York office of a large international law firm. Representative matters where she played a role on behalf of debtor, creditor, or investor clients are:

Ad hoc group of unsecured claims purchasers of Adelphia Communications Corporation in the Debtor’s adversary proceeding against them, concerning the entity liable on claims against the Debtor;

Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns in connection with sub-prime chapter 11 bankruptcy cases: People’s Choice and MLN;

Enron Corporation and its affiliates as special bankruptcy counsel in connection with Enron’s trading businesses;

Northwest Airlines Corporation in its chapter 11 cases, as counsel to the Debtor;

Omnicare, Inc., the nation’s leading pharmaceutical care provider to the elderly, in connection with its collection efforts for the failure to pay invoices for goods and services supplied by Omnicare pharmacies to long term care facilities; and
-
A variety of investment and financial institutions regarding the creation of various bankruptcy-remote structures in connection with commercial real estate transactions.
Before that, Ms. Berman worked as a Summer Associate for a boutique litigation firm based in Washington, D.C. and served as a Judicial Intern for Hon. Esther Morgenstern at the Queens County Supreme Court.
Education Ms. Berman received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. There she was on the Dean’s List and was the Managing Editor for The Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law. Ms. Berman graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hunter College where she also received Departmental Honors in Political Science and was a two-time recipient of the Joan Pincus Political Science Award.
