Charles O’Shea, Former Assemblyman and NYS DOT Director of Government Affairs Joins Meyer Suozzi

OShea Charles 800x800Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. is pleased to announce that Charles J. O’Shea has been named Of Counsel to the firm and will be resident in both its Garden City and Albany offices.

“Charlie has exceptional credentials as an attorney and as a former member of the New York State Legislature, Chairman of the Nassau County Board of Assessors and Director of External Relations for the NYS Department of Transportation,” said Managing Attorney, Lois Schlissel.  “His experience will enhance Meyer Suozzi’s Government Relations practice; he will be available to represent public and private sector clients in legislative, procurement and regulatory matters.”

As Director of Government Relations at the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT), Mr. O’Shea acted as a liaison between the DOT and all federal, state and city-elected officials representing the five boroughs of New York City and was responsible for interagency cooperation on transportation projects with federal, state and city governmental agencies.  Previously, he served as Chairman of the Nassau County Board of Assessors, as both the Administrator of the Nassau County Department of Assessment and the Director of Real Property Services for Nassau County, and was a member of the New York State Assembly for more than a decade.

Mr. O’Shea, a resident of Merrick, is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York. He is a graduate of Duke University and Fordham University School of Law.
